Hexagon Weld Nut
A hex nut with three small projections underneath that are welded to sheet metal, giving a strong thread in thin material. The projections concentrate weld current for a secure, localized bond without distorting the sheet. It is welded in place before assembly, then a bolt is driven with a standard wrench. Weld it to a clean, flat surface; dirt and gaps cause spatter and poor fusion.
